Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) offers financial incentives for two types of assessments through the ecoENERGY for Industry program. The incentives help industrial companies perform assessments of their operations to optimize their processes, reduce operating costs, become more competitive and reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) and air pollution – all by using energy more efficiently.
Register with NRCan's network of CIPEC Leaders to become eligible for the process integration study and computational fluid dynamics study incentives outlined below. Incentive proposals must be approved by NRCan before the assessment begins.
Process Integration (PI) studies are powerful analytical tools that go beyond conventional energy audits to systematically optimize interactions between systems in industrial facilities that consume significant amounts of energy.
Funding is available for up to 50 percent of the cost of a PI study, to a maximum of $50,000.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies go beyond conventional physical studies to analyze fluid flow and heat transfer in processes. Through computer modelling, CFD studies can be used to optimize system design and operation parameters for the efficient use of energy.
Funding is available for up to 50 percent of the cost of a CFD study, to a maximum of $30,000.
